Our little man

Julien has now been out of my belly as long as he was in. It feels like he is growing so fast these days. Although, we just went to his nine month well-baby check up and he didn't gain as much weight as I assumed. Our doctor said that's because he is becoming more mobile, therefor he's expending more energy. He's now 19 pounds and 2 feet 4 inches tall, super healthy and right where he should be developmentally.

It has been nice getting back into our schedule after the excitement of the holidays. I think we all thrive with a routine. We have a regular "book babies" class at the library on Mondays and Fridays that Julien loves. His favorite part seems to be interacting with the other babies. He is very observant, and he'll socialize once he feels really comfortable with the other kids.

The comparison shot from January 8th (I neglected to post last month).

He loves to stand, all. the. time.

We usually go to the indoor pool at the community center once a week, he's now gotten to the point where he recognizes where we are and he gets excited to go in the water. He still clings tightly to mama be he's definitely a water baby.

Practicing his drums, just like dad.

I love that the most entertaining items in the house are not the cute toys that people gifted us or the adorable little stuffed animals, but wooden bowls and spoons out of mom's kitchen. (Although he does have a little monkey that he is extremely fond of.)

So funny, this is "the face", he crinkles his nose and sniffs with this smirk on his face. Our hypotheses are that he is either getting excited, or is trying to imitate us laughing. The best part is that he knows it makes us laugh so he does it to get a reaction out of us.

It just amazes me how much Julien is growing up and becoming his own little person. We have been so lucky that with Daniel's new job he has had the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with Mr J (and mom gets a nice little break each day). Julien loves his dad!

This is when we were downtown at Stumptown coffee with Annika, Julien decided to wear his best duds and dad's super cool hat.

I love this kid.

Julien just got in his sixth tooth and is now working on number seven. You can see five of those pearly whites here. So many teeth for so much eating! He has recently decided that bananas are his all time favorite food with steamed spinach coming in second followed by yam, cheese, peas, broccoli and pear. Applesauce has mysteriously fallen into last place.

Julien wants everything. And then he puts it into his mouth. Not mama's camera, not this time.

Kisses to all from Julien.
